Hope in a Backpack
On November 29th, The River sent 700 loaded backpacks to a school in Tijuana Mexico in partnership with World Vision and SixSeeds. The school is located in a Tijuana squatter community where migrant workers often go in search of work. Wold Vision had been serving there for the past ten years and over the past four years SixSeeds has joined them. Joining in the effort, The River packed lots and lots and lots of backpacks with school supplies and other basic essentials during worship. It was inspiring to see families with children pack together. It was inspiring to see person after person return to the assembly line to help again. On Nov 29th, our worship was service. It was a testimony to who we believe our God is-- a God who loves to sow seeds of hope in the world.
