September 5 - Kindness San Jose

Kindness San Jose is a community service opportunity for Silicon Valley residents offered by The River. Sometimes, in the busyness of our lives, it can be difficult to find a meaningful way to serve others. Because of this, The River wants to provide an easy way for all residents, whether you are an atheist, a Christian or somewhere in between, to meaningfully participate in community service.

Come join us this Sunday, September 5, at our Ministry Center - 701 North First Street in San Jose. We will sing a few songs and then serve. If you did not sign up, please contact Tony Traback at or simply come and join us as we serve the people of San Jose!

We will be serving San Jose in the following ways:

- Help at The River Church Community Garden
- Make back-to-school handouts for SJSU students
- Pick up trash along Guadalupe Creek Trail
- Clean and garden at Heritage Home
- Visit the elderly at San Jose Rehabilitation Center
- Clean-up trash at Backesto Park
- Put together back-to-school kits to share with neighbors
- Survey homeless to learn more about their needs and desired services
- Pray for issues in the San Jose community

Please note: We are meeting at our Ministry Center and NOT at San Jose State where we typically gather. Click here for directions.
