Walk the Labyrinth

Labyrinth Photo

A labyrinth has been a practice embraced by Christians for the past 1000 years, allowing our minds, souls, and bodies to pray together. A labyrinth path is designed as a metaphor for life’s pilgrimage with God. While walking it, we can experience the presence of God - a way to discover ourselves in discovering God. Through contemplative prayer of self-observation and God’s illumination, layers of self-absorption can be peeled away and we can begin to understand our “true selves” as God intended. Just as other spiritual disciplines like prayer, fasting, and meditation have been adopted by other faiths, the labyrinth is no exception. However, this labyrinth has been designed by River Artists to create a meditative space for us to encounter Jesus through visual art, Scripture reading, media, and the walking of the path.

The Labyrinth is open from Thursday, March 26 to Saturday, April 11
at The River Ministry Center
701 North First Street in San Jose

We strongly suggest you make an appointment if you wish to experience the labyrinth. Appointments are available every 30 minutes. We accept walk-ins, but will only allow four people in the labyrinth at any given time. The labyrinth is an individual experience. When you enter, you will be given a pair of headphones for your guided experience. Listen to a sample of the audio here.
You should plan for about 1 hour to walk the labyrinth path.
