Board Candidacy Documents

The Advisory Council has recently transitioned to a more formal board structure to govern our church community. The Board is entrusted with the high calling of stewarding the mission of the River Church Community. Our desire is to invite spiritually mature men and women who are willing to serve the Bride of Christ in this way.

The Board would like to invite your prayerful consideration of individuals you feel would be good candidates for serving on the Board of the River Church Community. A document outlining the nomination process, along with all necessary forms, are available for download below. When you complete the form, you will be able to use as much space as is needed to answer each question.

The deadline for submission of the forms is May 15, 2009. Please complete and return your nominations to Tom Tsao () and Kathryn Mar (), who will be collecting the forms for the Board's review. Even if you do not feel that you wish to nominate someone, we appreciate your prayers for the process. We are currently looking to fill two positions on the Board.

Peacemaking Training I

Leadership Community Retreat - September 12 & 14, 2008

This year our retreat focused on how we unite around the sacred task of leading the River as a Biblically functioning community of the Kingdom of God. Friday evening we heard a message from Brad on what God is saying to us as a church over the last season – from our series on Ephesians starting in the Spring, through the listening process findings that Mark presented on 6/14, all the way through “Life Together” this summer. Saturday morning, Mark presented the beta version of The River's Peacemaking Covenant. Below you will find audio files for both sessions and the Peacemaking Convenant.
