1619 RoundTable
Join us for a discussion of the 1619 Project, a journalistic and historical effort that “aims to reframe the country’s history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of our national narrative”, and how the history of black Americans connects us all. The 1619 Project was founded by journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones, along with other journalists of the New York Times and encompasses both written articles as well as a podcast. Our discussion will follow the six-episode podcast and will take place across 10 weeks on Sundays, beginning on Sunday February 7 at 7 pm.  Sign Up here

How to Fight Racism with Jemar Tisby
We partnered with Spark Church to host Jemar Tisby as he shared more from his new book, How to Fight Racism. The YouTube recording from the event (along with an additional Q&A  recording afterwards) is available here.

Lazarus at the Gate is an 8-week study on what the Bible says about money, especially in the context of American wealth. We'll help each other through concrete discussions on how we feel about our money management and how we want to grow in it. Sign up here if you are interested in joining us

Compassion & Justice Call to Action

January 2021 Call to Action: PICO California

As people of faith and values, we believe all of our families deserve to have safe, affordable housing and stay in our homes. More than ever, our collective well-being depends on it.

Together, we demand CA’s elected leaders ban evictions through 2021 by passing AB 15 now, and act boldly to forgive rent & protect families from long-term debt by supporting AB 16.

Will you join faith leaders across CA in calling our legislators TODAY?

MAKE YOUR CALL TODAY

While millions of Californians have lost income or jobs due to COVID, our state politicians must decide who they stand with: landed, corporate interests, or our communities struggling to get by and pay rent & mortgages.

We choose to respond to this crisis by casting a moral vision in 2021: a CA where all of us, no matter our race or what’s in our wallets, have what we need to survive, thrive, and belong.
