The River Church Community

Mike & Pat Valentine graciously introduced me to this yesterday.  Yum yum.  Thanks Mike and Pat!  I've also been exercising my fingers on my new toy that I picked up for $1 at the Thailand ICE yard sale on Saturday.

Quiet here at the Ministry Center this week.  Brad is on vacation, Kyle and Amy travelled to Mexico to visit friends, Jill left on her 3-week trip to visit family in France.  Mark PH is preparing for the first sermon on Spiritual Warfare this week.  It feels like there has been some spiritual attack.  Gayll has had some health issues and we have experienced some significant mis-communication in the body.  Please pray for Mark & Gayll and for the church this week.

Tony is meeting with people like a madman, getting up to speed on who people are and what their hopes are.  He's hoping to run a few small experiments soon - if you're interested, stop him and ask him about it.

Life Together books available

• The Leadership Community (staff, small group leaders and ministry leaders) will be studying Dietrich Bonhoeffer's bookLife Togetherthis summer. This is a short seminal work on Christian Community that provides a vivid picture of what it means to be a reconciling community. Others are also invited to join us in reading this book over the summer.
• Books are available at the Connecting Table. The books cost the church $11 and donations are appreciated but not required.
• We will have a time to process our reading next Sunday morning July 27 at the Ministry Center from 9:30am - 11:30am. Please try to have read the first chapter before this meeting. Please RSVP to Dave Kwok (). We will have a light breakfast, but no childcare will be available.

Dinner after service in Fireside Room

• We had a wonderful turnout last Sunday for dinner. Thank you for everyone who pitched in to help!
• We have made adjustments to make food pickup move more smoothly and quickly and have also set up additional seating.
• We have some tables set up outside which should help the temperature
• I would encourage you to take this opportunity to sit with someone you don't know as well. For those of you who have been at the church for a while, seek out an unfamiliar face and extend hospitality to them
• Please let families with small children go through the food line first

• If you are new, and have questions about the church, please ask any of Connecting Hosts or staff members wearing a blue River lanyard and nametag.
• The Connecting Table is now located directly outside the Sanctuary.
