Hello Everyone!

We had a nice vacation in sunny Cambria, California.  Here's a nice picture of Anna and I from vacation.  Kind of like a Successories image, eh?  Also DAYLIGHT SAVINGS ENDS this Sunday.  Please remember to set your clocks back one hour.

Our November All-church intercessory prayer meeting is coming up next Tuesday, November 4.  Please join us at the Ministry Center from 7-8:30pm.  Dinner is available for those who want to come early at 6:30pm.

Tony has been putting the finishing touches on Kindness San Jose.  See the announcement below for details on how you can participate.

Mark conducted the second reconciliation training this past Saturday.  We had another lively session of very practical training and practice on how to listen and speak in high-stakes conversations.

The Gee's small group helped Jill modularize the KC closet this weekend.  This should make setup and teardown significantly faster.  Poke your head in the closet to check out our snazzy new carts!  Jill also hosted a Parent Seminar last Sunday where parents learned about the "key" to their children's spiritual growth.  If you missed it, ask Jill what the secret is!

The staff leadership team (Brad, David, Krista-Dawn, Michelle, and myself) will be going on a short planning retreat next week.  Please pray that we would hear God clearly together and have wisdom as we plan.

Sunday 10/26/08 Announcements:

KINDNESS SAN JOSE

On Sundays, - October 26th, November 2nd and November 9th, The River will be collecting blankets, jackets and non-perishable food. The food will be given to The Food Basket, an organization that distributes food to people with HIV/AIDS. The blankets and jackets will be given to the homeless and people living at the Emergency Housing Consortium (EHC).  So look for the Donation bins on Sunday mornings.

We are also hosting the following Kindness Projects in November. Sign-up sheets for each of these projects are at The Connecting Table on Sundays or by contacting Tony Traback at .

November 9th -15th: Commit to intercessory prayer  for the week.

November 9th: Hand out blankets/jackets to homeless downtown. (12 noon)

November 11th: Attend EHC Bible study. (8:00-9:30 pm)

November 13th: Hosting event for SJSU (7pm) 

November 14th: Host Heritage Home shower.  (7-8:30 pm)

November 15th: Make care packages for the people receiving dental and medical care at SVCHA (Silicon Valley Christian Health Alliance) and hang out with them over lunch (11am -12:30).

November 15th: Make Delta property repairs and set-up community garden (10 – 1 pm)
