The River Church Community

Hello Everyone!

First some local color - Al Chiang and Jason Fung helped me build my first homemade guitar doodad.  We had a fun night of drilling, soldering, and testing.  Now I have a shiny box with a big red button on it.  Thanks guys!

Our monthly all-church intercession meeting is coming up this Tuesday, October 2 at 7pm here at The Ministry center.  Join us as we seek God together on behalf of His people.

Look out for a blog post on an important new movie just being released that focuses on the human trafficking issue in America.  It's called Call and Response and we'll be mobilizing as a church to try to help raise awareness about this issue.

Mark PH had a great experience at the Peacemaker conference in Florida.  He said it was both practically helpful to our situation and personally fulfilling.  Ask him about it when you get the chance.

Angela and Donna got some cool signs put up outside of the Ministry Center advertising our Sunday services at San Jose State.  Very snazzy.

Life Together Book study
-    Join us for our last book discussion on Bonhoeffer’s Life Together.

Men’s Conference
-    This year’s men’s conference is titled “Men Pursuing Purity: Strength in Weakness”

Women’s Breakfast
-    Ladies: There is a Women’s breakfast on Saturday, October 4th from 9:30 am to 11:30 am a the home of Linh Bauer

Reconciliation Training
-    Two dates: October 18 or 25, 9 to 2 pm at The Ministry Center. Each date has identical content.
-    Training if for anyone interested in learning how to facilitate “high-stakes” conversations that bring about reconciliation.
