Update from the Geoghegans 11/13/2008
Nov 13, 2008
Good Evening Angel Helpers,
I have been feeling your love and prayers from afar sustaining me in times that I doubted I could make it through and finally on Sunday I was able to see and hug many of you that are our church family. Thank you ever so much for your smiles. I am SO proud of sweet Hannah Jane it was a joy to be able to introduce you all to her and hope for those of you that don't attend the River that you were able to log on and see her most current picture of her holding Rod's cross at Kaiser as well as her bath-time with soapy hair do.
We are leaving a day early for Duke due to a special flight to get us there instead of a commercial flight; a special thanks to Kate Hinke's daughter for putting us in touch with Corporate Angels, who came through with a last minute flight that will protect Hannah Jane from commercial flying! We're busy packing right now to get us out the door, you know us Geoghegan girls, I guess we don't travel light, as Pam Guerrero has seen me at her small group many a times with my big purses and bags (maybe the weight of all those things over the years has kept me short?). :)
We will be returning home late next week and back at church again on the 23rd. Hannah Jane has been blessed in countless ways and never ceases to inspire me to grow in Christ. We have also been deeply blessed by you and your presence in our lives.
Please keep our precious girl in your prayers for her infusion; God works miracles and I have been holding faith in Him to continue to work His plan for Hannah Jane. May I surrender to Him and trust in Him no matter what.
I am praying for God's hand to continue to be upon you all and us as a community and family. So many are going through tough times; please know that I keep you in my heart and prayers. Rod and I are honored to be a part of your lives and to be able to pray for you too.
Love,
Shannon
P.S. A special thank you to Elaine H. and Laura P. for their incredibly yummy homemade meals:
Elaine, your sauce had a very wonderfully sweet flavor for the meat marinade, the pear was extra delicious, loved the applesauce and perfectly crunchy and we very much appreciated the leak proof paper plates!
Laura, what an amazingly beautiful, healthy and tasty too salad, creamy sauce for the chicken, we're freezing the soup for our return home and wow what a treat to find a card from you (very cleverly sealed in a baggie to protect it from the ice pack) and chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert too. :)
We are so very blessed by your kindness in bringing us meals; I am seeing the hand doc again upon my return from Duke again for the carpal tunnel, the physical therapy recently has made no improvement to the numbness on my thumbs, index and middle fingers, the splints help a bit, but not sustaining. Will find out next step, possibly surgery to relieve the it.
So, it is very wonderful to not be attempting to chop food and lifting up hot pots with no feeling, I've already cut my fingers a couple of times picking up or getting pricked by sharp items and not realizing it at first. So, a very kind thank those of you who generously donated and are donating meals and saving my fingers and also to Heather Kwok for managing the calendar for us.
P. P. S. If someone has Kristin from church's email address (she just got back from a trip out of the country, I think), would you please send it to me or forward her this site so she can join - the little piece of paper that she wrote it on and I put in my purse (big purse that is) is missing.
