Don Smith

Don has attended The River Church since 2001 and has experienced the many seasons of the church since that time. Through the first half of this time, Don served in small groups, including forming and development of small groups. In the later years, Don has served as a volunteer in the Kids Community in most of the age groups. He also participated in group spiritual direction, as well as spiritual formation through the friendship with God cohort. 

Outside of The River, Don has been involved with ministries to the marketplace including volunteer biblically based consulting to small and medium sized companies in ministry trips to South Africa and Indonesia. Don has worked in the Silicon Valley in hardware, semiconductors, and intellectual property for more than 30 years. His experience includes engineering, engineering management, and program management at both public and private companies. 

His wife Jessica joined him at The River after they were married in 2009, and they have one daughter. Don and his family have enjoyed creating many friendships, experiencing spiritual growth and challenge, as well as participating in special events like Riverfest while being a part of The River. Don enjoys many sports, he is an avid golfer, and he enjoys walking/running the family dog.
