Brad Wong

Brad Wong is appreciated by many for his love of Jesus and scripture, his listening ear and his warm humor. Given his many similarities to Master-Jedi Yoda (in wisdom, not in height), its no wonder Brad is our Lead Pastor.

Prior to coming to The River, he served and led college students for fourteen years through the ministries of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at UC Berkeley, the University of San Francisco, and the University of Hawaii. After his years of ministry on college campuses, God began to grow in him a love for the local church, and that led him out of Hawaii and to The River in January 2001.  In September 2006, Brad assumed the responsibility of main Teaching Pastor and Lead Pastor.

Brad holds a Master’s Degree in Global Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary. He has completed his training in spiritual direction (also at Fuller). And he is currently in the process of completing his Doctor of Ministry with a focus on the spirituality of Ignatius of Loyola.
